Helpful Suggestions

Traveling on the Highway at Night combines several aspects of the last few lessons: four different dynamic levels, eighth notes, and slurs. Practice it slowly at first to make sure that you are playing it accurately.

Sound: This piece has a range of low B up to A. You can find the fingerings here. It has four dynamic markings. Make sure to produce a clear contrast with each dynamic change.

Rhythm: Your time signature is four-four time, which means that there are four beats in a measure and the quarter note is equal to one beat. Playing along with the Talking MetronomeBot in quadruple meter will help you maintain a steady tempo and accurate rhythms.
The note values consist of eighth notes, quarter notes, and quarter rests. Remember to tap your foot to the beat, not to the different note values.

Melody: This piece consists of 4, four-measure phrases. Each phrase is slurred from beginning to end.
