Lilac bushes produce very fragrant flowers that bloom in early spring. The flowers are typically a light purple color, but sometimes they are white or a dark purple. Unfortunately, the flowers typically last only a couple of weeks. Helpful Suggestions Sound: This piece includes C, D, and E in the lower register. You can find the fingerings here. Rhythm: The time signature for this song is three-four time, which means that there are three beats in a measure and the quarter note is equal to one beat. Play along with MetronomeBot's talking metronome in triple meter to keep a steady tempo. Melody: There are 2, four-measure phrases in The Waltz of the Lilacs in May. Make sure to breathe deeply at the beginning of the piece, and breathe again at the end of the fourth measure.
