Lesson 2, Song 5

Fair or Foul

Fair or Foul

Helpful Suggestions

Sound: This piece includes the pitches C, D, and E in the lower register. You can find the fingerings here.

Rhythm: Your time signature is three-four time, which means that there are three beats in a measure and the quarter note is equal to one beat.
Fair or Foul uses a combination of quarter notes, quarter rests, and half notes. This song does not have the beats written under each note in the book, so you will have to count carefully. If you need help with the rhythm, write the number of each beat under each note, as is printed in Songs 1 through 4. MetronomeBot's talking metronome in triple meter will help you play this song accurately.

Melody: Like all of the other songs in this lesson, Fair or Foul is composed of 2, four-measure phrases. Make sure to breathe where it is marked.
